Review of the "Devil May Cry" Anime 2025

1- Animation and Visual Quality:

With the collaboration between Netflix and Capcom, expectations for the Devil May Cry anime were high, especially when compared to the exceptional quality seen in Castlevania. While the animation and visuals aren’t bad, they don’t meet the level we were hoping for. However, the anime does capture the unique essence of Dante from the Devil May Cry game universe, adding a distinct touch. Although efforts were made to improve the visuals, the final result didn’t quite reach the level of greatness we expected.

Score: 8/10

2- Music:

When evaluating the music in Devil May Cry, it’s impossible to ignore that it stands out as one of the anime’s best features. Unlike many works where the music might fade into the background, this anime presents an exciting and impactful soundtrack that enhances the action scenes. The music doesn’t just create a dramatic atmosphere; it elevates the viewer’s experience, especially during the intense combat sequences. This is reminiscent of Netflix’s other works like Arcane, where music played a significant role in immersing viewers into the world.

Score: 9/10

3- Story:

One of the most significant drawbacks of the Devil May Cry anime is the story. While it offers thrilling battles and familiar characters, it lacks the depth and complexity of works like Castlevania or Chainsaw Man. Though it features a classic battle of good versus evil, the plot mainly revolves around combat, with little focus on developing a profound or clear goal. While the anime touches on moral dilemmas relevant to today’s world, it doesn’t offer the same level of narrative richness or character development found in series like The Witcher or Arcane.

It’s worth noting that while the anime offers exciting action for fans of battles and adventure, it doesn’t dive deep into any complex themes or plotlines.

Score: 7.5/10

Summary and Final Rating:

Is the Devil May Cry anime worth watching? If you're a fan of epic battles and the classic struggle between good and evil, you'll likely enjoy the series. However, don’t expect a deeply woven narrative or rich character arcs, as the anime is largely driven by action and conflict. The animation is decent, but not as spectacular as we had hoped. On the other hand, the music is a standout feature that enhances the overall experience.

Overall Score: 7/10

In conclusion, while the Devil May Cry anime offers an entertaining experience for action fans, it falls short of being a groundbreaking piece of art like other Netflix originals such as Castlevania.
