The Stranger Things universe is expanding! The official title for the new animated series was revealed by Netflix: Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.

Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of Stranger Things, declared in an announcement to Tudum, "We have always dreamed of producing an animated Stranger Things show based on the Saturday morning cartoons that we used to enjoy watching. To have that dream come to fruition has been utterly thrilling."

Produced for television by Duffers' Upside Down Pictures, the new series brings together familiar creative partners. Shawn Levy and 21 Laps' executive producer Dan Cohen are also executive producing, along with Eric Robles, who is overseeing the series from showrunner level from Flying Bark Productions.

The Duffers praised Robles and his team and said, "We are completely blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have done. The artwork and the writing are amazing, and we can't wait for you to experience it. The adventure continues!"

Stranger Things: Tales From '85 promises the same energy, nostalgia, and supernatural thrills that fans loved, but given an animated, lighthearted twist. There isn't a release yet, but fans can expect an action-packed trip to 1985 that is full of mystery and adventure.
