Where to Stream The Beginning After the End

Crunchyroll is currently the dominant streaming platform for TBATE in all regions. It is already dubbed in many different languages. A dubbed version has been announced by Crunchyroll, although they have not specified when exactly. English dubs of episodes typically become available around three weeks after an episode has originally come out.

In some Asian countries — such as Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong — you can also stream The Beginning After The End using Netflix. Based on where you live, other platforms in your area may also have the series.

Is The Beginning After The End Meeting Expectations?

The Beginning After The End created enough hype leading to its broadcast, drawing comparisons to other hit animes, such as Solo Leveling or Tower of God. That said, while the story has impressed quite an audience, its quality as an animation has been in doubt.

Directed by Keitaro Motonaga and produced by Studio A-Cat, the series can't quite match the budget and animation sheen of some of its larger franchises. Some were somewhat disappointed because the initial episode fell short visually, and anticipation was so high.

Despite this, the story and emotional complexity overall have attracted many viewers. Arthur's story — from royalty to discovering magic as a child — offers an original twist to fantasy-isekai.

TBATE is Not Manhwa

Though better known as a manhwa, The Beginning After The End started out as an English web novel written by Korean-American author TurtleMe. Its webtoon adaptation – illustrated by Indonesian artist Fuyuki23 – became an overseas hit on platforms like Tapas.

Despite being created by a Korean creator, it is not actually a manhwa because it was written in English and aimed at a global audience from the start.

Final Considerations

Episode 3 of The Beginning After The End could prove to be a turning point for the anime. While animation can never be revolutionary, the powerful story and emotional plot are so gripping that they keep you hooked. All fantasy-adventure enthusiasts who love intricate characters should definitely check this one out.

Be sure to catch the new episode on Netflix or Crunchyroll (depending on your location) upon its release date of April 16, 2025.
