The wait is over! Kaiju No. 8, one of the most popular anime of the year, is officially returning for Season 2. The followers of the hit show can now take a peek at what's coming with the release of its first trailer. The anime produced by Production I.G (creators of Guilty Crown and Ghost in the Shell) will continue to be adapted from the high-speed manga series by Naoya Matsumoto.
Mark those calendars! Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is going to air in July 2025 on Tokyo TV and other networks. Apart from that, fans also have something special to anticipate—a limited three-week compilation movie that consists of highlights of the first season and a special original episode, "Hoshina's Day Off," beginning from March 28, 2025.
Japan is always under threat as frightening monsters, referred to as Kaiju, invade every day. The country's Defense Forces find it difficult to defeat them. Kafka Hibino, who previously had ambitions to be part of the special force, now has the opportunity to clean up battlefields. But his life takes a very dramatic turn when he becomes a Kaiju himself, nick-named Kaiju No. 8.
