Crunchyroll has officially added Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom anime movie to its streaming lineup, and it’s available to watch starting Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 5PM PT. The highly anticipated film was produced by Studio MADHOUSE and directed by Naoyuki Ito, known for his work on previous Overlord entries.
Fans can now stream the full 132-minute feature exclusively on Crunchyroll, following its theatrical release in North America back in November 2024. This marks the digital premiere of the movie and opens it up to a global anime-loving audience.
The story picks up with the Sacred Kingdom, a peaceful land protected by a massive wall. However, that peace is shattered when the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth invades with a terrifying army of demi-humans.
Outnumbered and desperate, the leaders of the Slane Theocracy are forced to turn to their enemies in the Sorcerer Kingdom for help. In response, the fearsome undead overlord Ains Ooal Gown leads his army into battle in an epic confrontation to save the Sacred Kingdom.
“The fate of humanity lies in the hands of an undead king.”
This movie offers a perfect mix of intense battle scenes, dramatic storytelling, and top-tier animation. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the Overlord universe, this feature-length film delivers an exciting and emotionally charged adventure that stands on its own.
