Rockstar Games has silently updated its launcher, adding support for PC Game Pass a move that has heightened speculation that GTA V will come back to Microsoft's subscription platform. The update implies the game might be coming to not only Xbox Game Pass for console but, for the first time ever, PC Game Pass as well.
GTA V has had a bit of a coming and going past with Xbox Game Pass. Back in early 2024, the game was available on the console version of Xbox Game Pass for six months before it was removed. Now that this has happened, however, fans are wondering if Rockstar will reverse course and place the game back on the platform, maybe even with more access for PC players.
Rockstar's game launcher received an update recently that brought with it support for PC Game Pass, a change that was made subtly but not unnoticed by alert players. While players have yet to hear a confirmation from Rockstar or Microsoft, the feature's addition is a pretty clear sign that GTA V will eventually become accessible through PC Game Pass a first for the game.
As of now, Rockstar has not formally stated that GTA V will be returning to Xbox Game Pass or coming out on PC Game Pass. That being said, given the game's past history with subscription services and the new news from Rockstar, the rumor does seem in its right place.
If GTA V returns to Xbox Game Pass and is released on PC Game Pass, it will be a major benefit for gamers who wish to play the game but cannot afford it. The game remains one of the highest-selling open-world adventures with a vast online player community in GTA Online that is still active.
